Tinkoff Bank Joins FinTech Association

Moscow, Russia — 28 April 2017.
On 27 April 2017, the supervisory board of the Association for Financial Technologies Development held a meeting that was attended by Oliver Hughes, Chairman of Tinkoff Bank’s Management Board. At the meeting, Tinkoff Bank was admitted to membership in the FinTech Association.

Oliver Hughes, Chairman of Tinkoff Bank’s Management Board, said, «The world of finance is undergoing rapid change mainly driven by technology. We believe that joint efforts of key industry players will bring Russia’s financial technologies to a new level. We are still the only purely online bank in Russia and the largest one in the world by customer base. We rely on our extensive experience in financial technologies, which we are happy to share with colleagues. We are brimming with energy and ideas, ready to take an active part in a wide range of the Association’s projects, including development of digital identity authentication, distributed ledger and Open API solutions.»

The FinTech Association was established at the end of 2016 with the purpose of developing and implementing new technological solutions to move the Russian financial market forward and create the foundation for digitisation of the economy. Its focus areas are digital identity identification and management, development of distributed ledger and Open API solutions, and expansion of the retail payment infrastructure.
