Tinkoff Bank launches Android Pay

Moscow, Russia — 22 May 2017.
Tinkoff Bank announces the launch of Android Pay. Starting from the 23rd of May, our clients can use their Android mobile devices to pay for their purchases in stores, apps and online.

Pali Bhat, Vice President of Google Product Infrastructure & Ads, commented: «We’re excited to bring the simplicity and security of mobile payments to Tinkoff Bank customers with Android Pay. Starting tomorrow, people will be able to use their Android device to pay all across Russia and the number of stores and apps where or technology is available is constantly growing».

Anatoly Makeshin, Vice President and Head of Payment Systems at Tinkoff Bank, said, «We have launched Android Pay both for Mastercard and Visa cards. With this our clients can make one-touch mobile payments, while continuing to earn rewards for all card purchases and enjoy other benefits attached to Tinkoff Bank’s cards».

The Android Pay app is available for devices with Android 4.4 KitKat and newer. To go contactless, your device needs an NFC chip.

Android Pay does not store or transfer the card number, which makes all transactions completely secure.
